Pictures of Maui Photo Tours: Haleakala and Upcountry Maui
Visitors planning their first trip to Maui often browse through travel magazines looking at pictures of tourists lying on palm-lined beaches, drinking tropical beverages served in coconut shells. Who wouldn’t? But wouldn’t you be tempted by photos of a National Park at the top of a 10,000 foot dormant volcano that you can drive to on a good paved road? In our Pictures of Maui Haleakala Photo Tour, we have pictures of the the drive up Mount Haleakala, the heart of Maui, with photos of Jacaranda Trees in bloom, pictures of pastures as green as Ireland, and amazing photos of the ocean far below. In fact, there are photo ops around every turn!
You won’t believe that our pictures of volcanic cinder cones were taken in Maui, but you can see them for yourself in the crater at Haleakala National Park.
Sunrise at the Summit of Haleakala (see photo above) can be a life-changing experience. Just bring warm clothes: temperatures - even in Maui - can drop below freezing at ten thousand feet! For the adventurous (and fit) who want to climb down into the crater, you’ll find hiking trails, campsites, and even cabins for overnighting. Call WAY in advance if you’d like to reserve a cabin.
For now, we’ve included photos of Paragliding, and a few miscellaneous pictures of Upcountry Maui in our Haleakala Photo Tour. We’ll be adding more dedicated photo tours of Upcountry Maui and Activities like paragliding real soon.
